Job Title: 2nd Shift Supervisor Plastics/Assembly

Department: Plastics/Assembly
Reports To: Plastic/Assembly Manager
Location: South Kansas City, MO

Position Overview

This position supervises and coordinates activities in the Plastic and Assembly department to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas.

Essential Job Functions

  • Must work closely with Managers and DOM’s to ensure that the daily operations are handled in a timely manner.
  • Assist in raising the quality and productivity within the department.
  • Assist in the day to day operations as requested.
  • Accurately complete forms necessary for the operation of the department
  • Coordinate efficient product flow through the department.
  • Track manufacturing orders ensuring all paperwork is filled out correctly.
  • Identify needs and assist in operator, material handler and expo development training.
  • Responsible for machine operation and maintenance.
  • Responsible for proper maintenance of all warehouse equipment, including scheduling preventative and routine maintenance.
  • Stage orders.
  • Monitor and manage inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Train, motivate and develop all employees on core competencies of their respective positions instilling safety, quality and productivity. Cross-train employees to cover department needs and open growth opportunities.
  • Plans and monitors the department’s safety program, ensuring adherence to all company policy, procedures and regulations to ensure a safe, clean and orderly operation.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to endure repetitious movement
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Production Management
