Job Title: Extrusion Manager

Position Overview

Extrusion Manager will make sure that manufacturing processes run smoothly, they will work closely with DOM, Supervisors and Maintenance staff to plan work, set targets and make sure the finished products meet safety and quality standards, are cost-effective and deliver product on time.Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain a safe work environment as well as a workforce that is aware of the importance of safety.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of quality within production department.
  • Schedule daily production activities to ensure schedules are met or exceeded, adjust workflow and staffing requirements to meet schedules.
  • Analyzes daily production efficiencies, yields and performance of each production area to ensure standards are met.
  • Manage raw material usage and equipment to ensure effective usage and quantity sufficient to product to schedule. Meet or exceed 95% to100% on-time delivery rate of MO issued to the department.
  • Provides practical solutions to improve productivity in production processes, including cycle times and reduction of waste.
  • Maintain raw material and component inventory management system.
  • Maintain individual and departmental productivity and quality records as required by management, set minimal acceptable standards and main employee performance and attendance records.
  • Train and develop all employees on core competencies of their respective positions, priorities are Safety, Quality and Productivity. Cross-train and mentor employees to cover other positions, offer growth opportunities and assist in development as Sioux Chief Employees.
  • Maintains time and procedure records. Evaluates performance of employees and provides recommendations for salary increases, promotions and transfers.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-shift manufacturing facility
  • Must be self-motivated, efficient and accurate
  • Excellent communications, both oral and written and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems and technology
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude. Able to become proficient in the maintenance and adjustment of a variety of equipment used in the department. Must maintain a complete understanding of general tools, gauges and terminology

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years leadership experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing environment
