Job Title: Vendor Quality Specialist

Department: Quality
Reports To: Director of Quality
Location: South Kansas City, MO

Position Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining supplier performance ratings, certifications and improvements plans.

Essential Job Functions

  • Document vendor non-conformances and corrective actions. Communicate these actions to the purchasing department and suppliers.
  • Provide assistance to purchasing projects, such as vendor transitioning and sampling.
  • Maintain vendor grade card and rate vendor performance.
  • Fill in as necessary on quality checks for incoming goods, samples and stock checks.
  • Obtain and document vendor quality procedures including photographs and details of testing equipment.
  • Organize vendor samples and maintain sample library.
  • Create supplier quality manual for vendors to follow.
  • Assist in processing and submitting claims to vendors.
  • Work with PGD/PGM’s as required on projects concerning new vendors
  • Meet with vendors regarding the quality of their product

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and technology
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

Education and Experience

  • College degree preferred
  • Experience with common quality procedures as well as industry experience
