Copper Team Leader

Department: Copper Department
Reports To: Copper Manager
Location: Peculiar, MO

Position Overview

This position works with and assists the Manager in raising the quality and productivity within the department on a day-to-day basis.

Essential Job Functions

  • Schedule and track manufacturing orders through processes and packaging ensuring all paperwork and tub tags are filled out correctly and signed off and scrap is recorded.
  • Coordinate efficient product flow through the department.
  • Manage component inventory within the department.
  • Become familiar with and able to teach all equipment and process in the department.
  • Work directly with other Team Leaders in the department to ensure constant flow throughout the entire department.
  • Prepare and teach other to prepare product and complete tasks in a timely manner without compromising safety and quality.
  • Complete training and certification on each employee within the department.
  • Identify needs and assist in operator development training.
  • Write performance reviews, set goals and log events.
  • Maintain general housekeeping duties within the department.
  • Must comply with company and department rules and procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Skill in organization, prioritization and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work without bias
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Team oriented and positive attitude
  • Must maintain a complete understanding of general tools, gauges and terminology
  • Must be or able to become certified on every process and piece of equipment within the department.
  • Must be willing to show up a minimum of 15 minutes before shift starts and able to work occasional overtime as needed.
  • Must be a good coach/facilitator
  • Proficiency in computer systems and technology
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Fourth Shift
