Job Title: Maintenance Driver / General Maintenance

Department: Building Maintenance Department
Reports To: Maintenance Manager and Assistant Manager
Location: South Kansas City, MO

Position Overview

This position is responsible for the operation of commercial vehicle to deliver goods to customers and operations and to pick up material from vendors and other operations.

Essential Job Functions

• Safely drives on the road delivering and picking up product in various weather conditions.
• Inspects equipment to ensure safe operating conditions, checks oil and fuel prior to leaving.
• Secures load and/or inspects load to ensure it’s been properly secured.
• Performs duties consistent with all applicable safety, DOT and Company rules.
• Conducts preventative maintenance and ensure truck is clean.
• Maintains appropriate driving records, logs and shipping documents as required.
• Maintains telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or request to be dispatched to new location.
• Verifies shipping documents for accuracy and obtains customer’s signature on paperwork upon delivery.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Accurately complete maintenance forms.
• Maintain general housekeeping duties within the department.
• Must comply with company and department rules and procedures.
• Must display a positive company image (attire, hygiene, appearance and actions).

Non-Essential Job Functions

• Fosters positive working relationships.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have Class E Commercial Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
• Must be cautious, concise and detail oriented.
• Good eye and hand coordination.
• Must be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow directions and work harmoniously with supervisors and operators.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pull of parts and containers.
• Must be able to work weekends/overtime as needed.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
